Amy Romalis
Director, Teacher, Personal Trainer

Born and bred for the performing arts, Amy started working at Aussie Bodz when it was established in 2009. A dancer since the age of 4, Amy has training and experience in ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, tap and gymnastics. Over the past five years, Amy has worked professionally on stage and screen as a Dancer, Actor and Singer. Amy has performed at esteemed venues including: The New Theatre, NIDA, The Fig Tree Theatre, Zenith Theatre and the International Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Amy has also had a consistent career teaching singing, drama and various dance styles to kids, youth and adults at a number of dance schools in the Eastern Suburbs, including teaching Senior Tap at Janice Breen. Amy has also tap danced on National Television after her successful Tap Invention, TAPestry, competed on ABC’s The New Inventors.

With a graduating Certificate III and IV in Fitness, Amy is also a qualified Personal and Group Trainer. She enjoys living a happy and healthy lifestyle and encouraging others to do the same!

 

Ally Heavener
Administrator & Assistant Teacher

Ally has been a member of the Aussie Bodz Team since it was established in 2009. At the age of 2, Ally started learning ballet with dance expert, Robina Beard. She then went on to study a variety of dance styles including tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, modern and lyrical, at Janice Breen and later at Brent Street. In 2008, Ally danced at the season opener of the NRL Telstra Premiership. Then in 2009, she performed at The Entertainment Centre in the New South Wales Premier’s Concert as well as at Carols in the Domain, alongside dance professional, Justine Clarke.

In 2012, Ally will be completing her HSC which means we unfortunately won’t be seeing her around quite as much as usual, but she is still looking forward to another fabulous year of watching our students grow and gain new skills in the fun-filled environment at Aussie Bodz!

 

Caitlin Heavener
Administrator & Assistant Teacher

Caitlin has been a member of Aussie Bodz since it was established in 2009. Caitlin began dancing at the age of 3 and since then has studied ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and tap, at schools including Janice Breen, Robina Beard and On the Ball Dance and Fitness.

Caitlin is currently studying Law and Economics at University and is looking forward to another year of working at Aussie Bodz. Caitlin has loved working at Aussie Bodz over the years, where the philosophy is to give kids the opportunity to learn dance in a fun and non-competitive environment. She gets a kick out of seeing happy, smiling faces!

 

Sophie Campbell
Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz & Performance Group Teacher

Sophie has been dancing since she could walk! While living in Brisbane, Sophie completed 2-Year Classical & Contemporary Training and 1-Year  Musical Theatre Training at the Australian Performance Institute. After her move to Sydney, Sophie completed a 1-Year Full Time at Brent St Performing Arts. Sophie is proud to have a Diploma in Dance and Certificate IV in Musical Theatre.

Sophie has a passion for kids and teaching at Aussie Bodz. It gives her the chance to pass on the skills and secrets she has learnt in all of her dance training. Sophie finds it very rewarding to see students grow, improve, succeed and excel with all styles they take on. Dancing and teaching is what makes Sophie happy, and that’s why she is happy to say she loves her job!

 

Cristina de Mello
Ballet & Mini Bodz Teacher

Cristina De Mello is a dance-theatre artist and Classical Ballet teacher. She has a Bachelor of Performance (Theatre theory and practice) from the University of Western Sydney and is a Registered Teacher with The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). Cristina has directed, devised and performed in several short and full-length works that have been presented through out Australia and Europe.

For the past 5 years Cristina has taught many of beautiful children the joy of ballet and hopes to impart a sense of achievement and artistry to all her students. She is looking forward to another fun and learning-packed year at Aussie Bodz!

 

Robyn Masters
Mini Bodz, Ballet, Stretch & Strength Teacher

Robyn has been dancing since the age of four and still loves every minute of it. Robyn has been trained in Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary and is now studying a Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Education at UNSW. Throughout her dance career, Robyn has been highly involved in dance festivals and competitions as well as the performance program at UNSW, performing at several state and regional dance festivals.

Robyn has a passion for teaching and has experience teaching in schools as well as choreographing for Rock Eisteddfod. Robyn is very excited to be joining the team at Aussie Bodz for 2012. She is looking forward to sharing her love of dance to the Aussie Bodz family and help them to experience the same passion that she has for dance.

 

Emma Condon
Acrobatics and Cheerleading Teacher

Emma eats, breathes, lives & LOVES Cheerleading. A competitive cheerleader of 2 years, Emma has competed at state, national and Asia Pacific competitions at an Elite level. She is no stranger to the importance of safety with Level 1 & 2 Coaching Accreditations.  Now a professional (stunt) Cheerleader with the Tigers for the upcoming NRL season, Emma has a wealth of knowledge and experience to bring out the young cheerleader in all.
